Since living in the UK I have never seen so many people with what is generally known as a speech impediment appear on national television in my life. I had to start asking why that is. Is it a rampant deformatity the NHS has not yet managed to fix or is it a product of poor dental regemes at childhood development?

Then there is the less seen on TV Lateral Lispbrought to fame by the cartoon character Sid the Sloth in the Ice Age movies and the extravert London based choreographer and outlandish celebrity Louise Spence. Anyway, I digressed there, so yes there is a prevalence of lisps and impedements in the UK that Australasians and Americans are not use to hearing — I believe the reason is simple, the British are OK with seeing and hearing it in their entertainment, in their celebrities and the general public.

Now couple that with the equally recent BBC Panorama programme on Cyber-bullying and the equally disturbing cyber-Trolling. Whatever your thoughts on the programme, the vitriolic comments made in the media, on blogs, the twitter-sphere, youtube and Facebook went beyond opinion, they are trying to be nasty and destructive.

Anyway, I digressed there, so yes there is a prevalence of lisps and impedements in the UK that Australasians and Americans are not use to hearing — I believe the reason is simple, the British are OK with seeing and hearing it in their entertainment, in their celebrities and the general public.

They have effectively de-demonised it as something to poke fun at. Let me get this straight. In the northern hemisphere it snows in the winter, check. The UK is in the northern hemisphere, check. Therefore, it will probably snow during winter, check. So why does the media and weather forecasters make such a fuss of a little bit of snow, especially in the capital. Surely the predictions and updates are enough without the amateur dramatics of the news presenters and on-location reporters telling the nation that it is snowing, foggy, icey or raining ice.

We know, we can see it ourselves. I love the snow and feel deeply hard done by and very lucky at the same time when the event is so accurately forecast. Just take a look at Facebook and look at the counter-snow culture in action against us pro-snowers.

As an example, In London the day after the big snow my partner and me went out to explore the white stuff and was surprised to see a couple of the underground tube lines had delays due to….

Since old Mother Nature is so unpredictable would that be the better reason to invest in a faultless infrastructre, so that they are prepared for any occasion of heatwave, extra autumnal leaf dumps, floods, slips, or extra snowy snow? Like I say to the naysayers on Facebook. London transport prepares for the Snow. I find it bizarre that the UK insist s on spending money on minting the ridiculous 1, 2 and 5 pence coins in this day and age of inflation and higher prices.

The good news is the steel new coins will be lighter and slightly thicker than their predecessors, creating a whole new industry around having to alter the vending machines and ticket machines currently in use to accommodate the new thicker coins. This apparently will cost the local authorities and private enterprises a shit-load of money to upgrade. End of story.

So, Mr Chancellor, phase out these dumb coins, introduce Swedish rounding on cash transactions and legislate to prevent excessive product price rises. Hello out there. Not at Ennismore Now….

As part of the settlement, the disclaimer "Snagglepuss voice by Daws Butler" was required to appear on each commercial. This made Butler one of the few voice artists to receive screen credits in a TV commercial.

Snagglepuss lives in a cavernwhich he constantly tries to make more habitable for himself. No matter what he does, however, he always winds up back where he started or worse off than he was before. A few episodes involved him trying to court a female lion named Lila voiced by Jean Vander Pyl but who always rejected his advances for being too boorish or pathetic. Snagglepuss has three signature catchphrases. His most famous is his perpetual exclamation "Heavens to Murgatroyd!

Finally, Snagglepuss tends to add the word "even" for emphasis at the ends of sentences:.
